YTD Symbol P/L Report

This report provides a summary of unrealized Year-To-Date (YTD) profit and loss (P/L) by stock symbol. The data is sourced from the Thinkorswim “Profits and Losses” section of the trade transaction file. The report includes open orders and displays the latest YTD P/L for each symbol. Note that P/L does not include option premium for the underlying symbol.

Importantly, the report will show P/L for positions opened in prior years if there was a closing transaction in the current year.

The report represents a snapshot as of the latest available transaction date. For example, if the latest transaction file is dated January 4, 2026, the report will only reflect P/L up to that date, regardless of when the report is generated. If you run a report for a date range (e.g., December through January), the data will be based on the latest date within that range. An "open" badge appears next to each stock symbol with current open orders, even if the opening trade has not been uploaded. The total P/L shown is unrealized and may not match your annual realized P/L. If you see an "open" badge but cannot find the position on the open equities report, it likely means the relevant trade transaction file has not been uploaded.

How It Works

• Pulls the most recent YTD P/L data for each symbol from your uploaded trade files
• Shows a snapshot as of the latest available date in your data
• Open badge appears for any symbol with open orders, regardless of upload completeness
• Unrealized P/L does not include option premium for the underlying symbol

Reporting Notes

• Report is not real-time; it reflects the latest uploaded transaction file
• If you run a report for a past date, results will match the data as of that date
• Open badges may appear even if the position is not visible in other reports, due to missing uploads
